Zac’s band Tralala Blip have a 2 week artists residency in Germany in late January 2016. After a looooong flight we arrived and got to check out ZKM, including The Kubus, which is a sound-dome for recording and performing music. We have seen some snow, started sussing out the city of Karlsruhe and have been having lots of laughs! We are now working on recording city sounds to create a new album for release later this year. We will be performing some of the music we create here as part of the Global Digital 300 day festival on 30 January – see http://zkm.de/en/event/2016/01/globale-tralala-blip.
Zac just loved going to Paris, walking around the Eiffel Tower, then scooting off to investigate some traditional gardens in the heart of Tokyo.
OMG, OMG, OMG, followed by a stretch of silence…. and Zac was loving his first virtual reality experience.
The device that Zac was using is a home made version of Google Cardboard which you can buy online (google, eBay, etc) or make your own by search for the numerous plans available for free.
Now back to destroying my gods on the PlayStation:
Zac got in the zone today playing ‘the Unseen Machine’ at Anthony and Rachael’s studio. So much fun.
Zac (and Jianna) and Anthony are designing a new musical instrument.
Some potatoes, a conductive circuit, and a quick bit of software development and we’re having some fun. Potatoes don’t make the best instrument but everything has to start somewhere.
